Introduction

Hi, my name is Ann Drugan and I have a Bachelor's of Biomedical Science from Tarleton State University. I have a passion for learning and science gives me the opportunity to do so. I hope as your teacher I can find ways to inspire you to love science. Before college my science background was very limited. I have always enjoyed science, but the high school I attended didn't give me a foundation to build off of. It is my job as a teacher to give my students a foundation that they can use to continue their education through out college and beyond.

There is something fascinating about science.
One gets such wholesale returns of conjecture
out of such a trifling investment of fact.

Mark Twain, Life on the Mississippi, 1883

The photographed quote below is such a simple statement, but yet so true. The only way to learn is to make mistakes and learn from them. Before college I was so scared to make a mistake that I wouldn't ask questions or take chances. I have learned that by asking questions and taking chances you learn twice as much and you gain a better understanding of what you were studying, which is the ultimate goal of every student and teacher.

Participation is a vital part of a students role. Students have to want to learn and understand the material to be successful. The teacher can provide the tools for the student to be successful, but if the student doesn't participate, it is impossible for a teacher to help their students. I want to give students what I didn't have and that's a teacher who wants every student to be successful and truly understand the material. If I can do that, then I have done my job as a teacher!
